Project Description: The CPS of Tanguieta organized an International Women’s Day event for the region along with all the women’s groups in Tanguieta. There was a parade through town, dances, theatre, singing, as well as a panel discussion on women’s issues. There were two official soccer matches in the afternoon. The opening match was played by two teams of market vendor women, tailors, hair dressers, PCVs, etc against two Belgian girls’ soccer teams. The main match after this was a match between the Tanguieta and Materi girls’ soccer teams. The Materi girls’ soccer team also brought a banner that they made where they wrote what they individually wanted to do when they grew up.
