Project Description: This is the second annual Borgou AIDS education bike tour. On May 9-12, 18 Peace Corps volunteers, 7 Beninese educators, and a chase team of 3 fire-fighters will travel from Parakou to Kalale, stopping in 3 villages each day. The purpose of the tour is to spread HIV/AIDS awareness. PSI in Cotonou has supplied condoms for distribution and volunteers are supporting their own costs. The GAD small project grant would go towards travel for the Beninese educators as well as their daily meals and tour tshirts. Last year over 2,000 people were exposed to the sessions and this year, with the cooperation of the Mayors of Perere, Nikki, and Kalale, it promises another success in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
